FAQ About Spouse’s Groups by Captives Free:

  • Spouses meet via Zoom weekly. You are welcome to attend any meeting, any time, as much as you’d like.

    Tuesday: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM EST

  • You will feel relieved to meet a group of women on the same journey to recovery and on the road to healing.

    You are not expected to share at your first meeting but if you do, other members will be honored to listen.

  • Meetings are an hour and a half and include lessons from Captives Free Spouse’s Workbook and a chance to connect with other women in the group.

  • Yes, confidentiality is expected and non-negotiable. We do not reveal the identity of our group members or any personal information outside the group.

  • The Captives Free Spouse’s Workbook leads you through three levels of examination of seven individual principles, for a total of twenty-one assignments. The concept is to repeat this cycle multiple times, in order to reinforce understanding of those seven principles, and to encourage you to take on broader roles in the program as your recovery progresses. Those roles involve helping others coming along behind you to reach their goals and making lasting recovery available to more and more of God’s people.

  • You will be encouraged to set boundaries that will help you measure the consistency of behavior and how faithfully your husband is working the program.

  • There are few if any standard boundaries applicable to all situations, but personal safety, honesty and some form of accountability are general subjects to consider. The Captives Free program and the members of your group will help you determine healthy boundaries for your situation.

  • Absolutely. Everyone has their own core wounds and family history issues that have become a key part of the relational dynamic that is faced. The program is structured to help you identify those and understand how they trigger your actions, so you can address your personal contribution to the relational issues in your marriage.
